Cartoonist and Educator(Retired)

After spending 34 years in the public school system in British Columbia, Canada, as a Teacher, Vice-Principal, and Principal, Rod (Rory) is well qualified to share the real experiences of students, educators, and parents in his light-hearted cartoons appropriately called "Just Kidding". The characters are a compilation of the many people Rod has met, taught, and worked with over his long career in education. The gags are drawn from his own experiences or from stories shared by colleagues, friends, and his wife, Tracy, a Primary School Teacher. "Uh-oh! Am I going to end up in one of your cartoons?", was a question frequently asked by students, colleagues and parents caught in comic situations at school.

Rod retired from teaching in June, 2006, to pursue his love of cartooning full-time. When not drawing or working on his website, Rod enjoys a very active life skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb, bicycle riding, playing the guitar, golfing, volunteering at local schools and walking by the sea. He has two grown sons, Ryan (a pilot) and Severin (an auto mechanic and electrician), and lives in Vancouver.
